I am Nahum Ben Horim’s great grandson. His doughter Bruria (my grandmother) married Moshe Mizrah (my grandfather) in Israel and their son Yehouda (my father) was born in Israel in 1934. I was born in Israel in 1961 when my parents changed our last name to Kedem. I moved to New York in 1985 and have lived in and around Manhattan since.
Nahum, did your grandfather finish the talmudic encyclopedia?
Richard, he was my great grandfather, not my grandfather and I only learned that he passed away in New York two years before I was born in Israel from this website. I know almost nothing about him and don’t even know what the talmudic encyclopedia is. BTW, I always thought he was born in Russia but his Ellis Island manifest states he was born in Palestine.
