That is correct.
That is the reason of the name “Rudnick” in his Shul.
That was his second marriage. His first was something more Litvish, a daughter or Rav Levi Bilitzky, who’s father Reb Gershon Tanchum was a son-in-law of Reb Chaim Avrohom Shapiro, a son of Reb Leibele Kovner and a brother of Reb Refoel from Volozhin.
Reb Shmuel had children from both marriages.
