if i’m not mistaken, he is the son in law of r’ binyomin halberstam (whose matzeiva was posted here several weeks back)
That is correct.
That is the reason of the name “Rudnick” in his Shul.
That was his second marriage. His first was something more Litvish, a daughter or Rav Levi Bilitzky, who’s father Reb Gershon Tanchum was a son-in-law of Reb Chaim Avrohom Shapiro, a son of Reb Leibele Kovner and a brother of Reb Refoel from Volozhin.
Reb Shmuel had children from both marriages.
