Uri’s memoir tells his story from his birth 1874 in Russia to his arrival in Jaffo at age 7, from whence his parents, he and his older sister traveled to Hebron where his father died after one year and where Uri grew up & studied until he went to study in Jerusalem where he married my grandmother. He wa 16 and she; 15. There he was ordained and from there he went to serve in Zichron Yaacov and Metulah as Rabbi, Shoichet and Moehl, later immigrating to the USA. He and Sarah had 8 children; one born in New York City. He died one year before Israel became a state.

This photo is of my grandfather, the younger man on the right, shown with another man whose identity I do not know. A very fine portrait.
    Thank you for posting it.
