His son Reb Shlomo Hurwitz served as the president of the Lubavitch Yeshiva in Worcester MA, where his father was one of the founders.

On today’s bulletin of the Jewish Gen. daily RAV-SIG newsletter the following message has been posted by a grandchild of Reb Zurach Hurwitz of Worcester:
“I am searching for information re: Zerakh HOROWITZ (1785-1820)who married
Peissa-Bassia Donchin’s daughter(b.1785..have no name available)in Disna
Byeloussia. According to information I already have which may or may not be
correct,Zerakh was the son of Elyakim Getzel Halevi Horowitz of
Lychowitz,Byleorussia who was the son of RÝitzchak from
Radvilishok,Lithuania.
This search has been prompted by difficult research on my grandfather ..
R’Zorach Halevi Horowitz (1860-1944)who lived in Smolyany,Bealrus after
marraige to Chassia Rabinovitz until 1905and was later Rabbi of Sons of
Jacob synogogue,Worcester,
Mass.
I am hopeful there is some link here.Thank you in advance for your help.
Blossom Glassman
Milton,Mass.”
Perhaps we can help them in thier query.
