« Previous: Rabbi Michael Shalom WinklerNext: Rabbi Shalom Elchanon Jaffe »
He was my uncle. Cong. Anshei Toras Chessed Vezichru Toras Moshe was on Manhattan’s East Side and not in Brooklyn. There he gave hours long lectures in Talmud every day of the week. He served there for 50 years, from 1931 when his older brother, my father, Rav Yehuda Dov Galinsky, left the Congregation to become the rabbi of Colchester, CT.
Any relation to the Magid in Beni Brak
I once asked the Maggid z’l about this. He knew the family, but denied any relationship. However, R’ Galinsky’s son said that the families were distantly related. (My father z’l davened in Rav Galinsky’s shul for fifty years, 20 years during Rav Galinsky’s lifetime.)
